Luis obtained his MSc in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary. He also holds a BSc in Cadastral and Geodetic Engineering, demonstrating a strong foundation in land surveying, mapping, and spatial data analysis. His academic background equips him with expertise in both theoretical and practical aspects of geomatics, enabling him to contribute effectively to precision surveying, geospatial data management, and infrastructure development projects.
Work
Luis is a Professional Engineer registered with APEGA, specializing in the oil and gas sector. Leveraging his expertise in software as a geomatics specialist, he has contributed to numerous projects and companies, including Wood PLC Canada, Intermap Technologies Corporation, Gemini Positioning Systems, Verimap Plus, North West Geomatics, Maltais Geomatics, and ETB (Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota).

Luis has a deep passion for astronomy and enjoys running in his free time. He particularly likes going on long runs outdoors, where he can appreciate both the fresh air and the beauty of the night sky.
